Are you still waiting for the perfect time?The first step on your weight loss journey is one of the hardest steps you'll ever take.

You know something needs to change if you want to reach your health and weight loss goals, but from what you've seen those changes require time and energy that you just don't have. In your experience, those changes spell a lot of hard work and deprivation. Yuk!

And so you start bargaining with yourself:

"Next Monday I'll begin."
"As soon as we get back from holidays, I'm full steam ahead."
"It's my big 4-0 next month. Getting fit will be my birthday present to myself."
"I'll just get through this divorce and then nothing will be able to stop me."
"When things quieten down at work, I'll get started"

Blah blah blah.

You figure that should give you just enough time to sample every last unhealthy food and get it out of your system; or allow you to bank just a few more sleep ins before you hunker down and get serious.

And it's just so easy to justify.

It makes sense to start with a clean slate and a significant date.
It makes sense to wait until you can do it right and not fall off the wagon at all.
It makes sense to wait until the perfect time.

We're constantly being told that successful weight management is just a matter of balancing the 'calories-in, calorie-out' Counting Caloriesequation. Apparently it all boils down to simply eating less and moving more.

Nice theory. And it logically makes sense.

But there's only one doesn't work.
(At least not for most people.)

It's definitely possible to lose body fat and keep it off by manipulating calories.
But dieting, restricting food, over-exercising, and trying to keep track of your personal calorie equation (calories in vs calories out) is simply not the way to do it.

In a nutshell, any approach to losing weight that's based around tracking and adjusting the number of calories consumed or burnt is doomed to fail right from the beginning.

So let's take a closer look at why this common, yet oversimplified and now scientifically outdated approach can't possibly work; and then review the evidence for what really leads to lasting weight loss success.

What's the real solution to weight loss success?The single largest key to success has nothing to do with your diet, exercise or mindset.

If you were asked to choose the most important factor critical for weight loss success, you'd be forgiven for thinking it had something to do what you're eating, how you're exercising; or possibly even about having the right mindset or motivation.

But in reality, when we take a closer look at those people who have been able to reach and maintain their most healthy weight over the long term, we notice that the key to their success is actually something else altogether.
